Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is an action-adventure video game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment 1 It was released for the PlayStation 4 on August 22, 2017 in North America, and August 23, 2017 in Europe. It is considered a standalone DLC for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End , and is the sixth installment within the Uncharted franchise. It is the first Uncharted without Nathan Drake, and it started as a simple Uncharted The Lost Legacy PC Download downloadable content (DLC), a side story that grew up into a full-fledged game of its own. Sony now calls it a stand-alone Uncharted adventure, and it stars two women, Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross, who have replaced Drake and Sully as the heroic thieves on a grand treasure hunt. It is time for the women - a treasure hunter thief and a mercenary - to show what they can do with the franchise.

Sony's Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is one of the big exclusives on the PlayStation 4, debuting on August 22. The Naughty Dog game is full of familiar puzzles, action sequences, and plenty of climbing, but the female lead characters take the series in an intriguing new direction.

And this was only the first game; the sequels - which I'll move onto soon - took this to the next level. But like any great film series or books, games that have great sequels start from ambitious originals that may not be perfect, but they really push the genre to the next level in what they try to do. The original Uncharted did that for me and I'll always remember it fondly.

One of the funnier things that happens to a long-running movie or video game franchise is when titles stop having numbers. You know: Rocky Balboa, Die Hard With a Vengeance, or the three most recent Call of Duty games. It's an almost tacit admission of ridiculousness, like the movie or game is sighing and saying, Yeah, okay, let's not think about how long we've been doing this. The franchise must go on, and it demands we go along with it.
